We are proud to announce that Nextkidney has been awarded the prestigious European Innovation Council Accelerator (EICA) Award, securing a grant of €2.5 million. This recognition highlights our mission to revolutionize home hemodialysis with Neokidney, a compact, patient-centric device designed to provide greater autonomy, improved life expectancy, and enhanced quality of life for end-stage renal disease patients.

A significant progress into the next phase

The innovative design of Neokidney allows complete independence from traditional dialysis infrastructure, empowering patients to undergo treatment without reliance on specialized clinics. This breakthrough not only enhances the daily lives of patients but also extends access to life-saving dialysis treatment in regions where it was previously unavailable, addressing a significant global healthcare challenge.
Selected from over 4,000 companies, this award reinforces our dedication to advancing medical technology and delivering impactful solutions for kidney disease patients. With this funding, we will conduct rigorous clinical trials, refine our manufacturing processes for scalable production, and accelerate the commercialization of Neokidney to ensure it reaches those who need it most.
The European Innovation Council (EIC) recognizes the profound impact of our work, and we are deeply grateful for their support. Originating from an initiative of the Dutch Kidney Foundation, and backed by a collaboration of European Health Care Insurers, Nextkidney values the importance of working alongside the European Kidney Patients Federation (EKPF) and the European Kidney Health Alliance (EKHA). This collaboration ensures that we remain aligned with the needs of patients and healthcare stakeholders, fostering continuous improvement and long-term success.
Jérôme Augustin, CEO Nextkidney states : “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, our partners, and the entire kidney care community. We are excited to take Nextkidney to the next level and bring real change to patients who deserve more independence and a better quality of life.”
As we progress into the next phase, our primary focus remains on achieving regulatory approvals, refining Neokidney’s technology, and ensuring a seamless market launch. We eagerly anticipate sharing our advancements and continuing our collaboration with healthcare professionals, industry partners, and patients to reshape the future of kidney care.
